Columbia Township’s Maintenance Department is made up of 4 full time employees, a road superintendent and 3 service workers; this is a small department for the amount of work that is routinely completed throughout the Township. The Maintenance Department strives to have no resident complaints and when we do our goal is to have the problem resolved in less than 24 hours when possible.

The duties of Columbia Township Maintenance Department are as follows:

  • Road Maintenance
  • Snow Removal
  • Brush Pick-up
  • Leaf Pick-up
  • Tree Trimming (Street Trees)
  • Street Cleaning
  • Grass Cutting
  • Building Maintenance
  • Equipment Maintenance
  • Litter Pick-up

The Maintenance Department has a number of vehicles and equipment in our fleet. We perform all routine maintenance for our trucks and equipment in house, and take pride in the appearance of each vehicle.  Each person in the Department is cross-trained to operate any piece of equipment allowing the Department flexibility in the scheduling of work and we suffer no down time due to vacations or illness.

We continually attend safety and training classes both in house and in conjunction with neighboring municipalities to help lower the risk of injuries and maintain a safe work environment. Recently the Maintenance Department attended a class hosted by Mariemont Fire Department on National Incident Management System (N.I.M.S.). The course is designed to better prepare first responders in the event of Natural Disasters, Acts of Terrorism and Major Catastrophes.

We look forward to keeping Columbia Township a community residents are proud to call home.
