Leaf Collection

Columbia Township offers an annual leaf collection program to Township residents. Leaf collection begins  the week of  October 20 and continues through December 31. The Maintenance Crew makes regular passes through the Township, unless  trucks are needed to clear the roads of snow or ice.  Since we cannot predict the weather nor  how long each pass through the Township will take, we cannot schedule a specific pick-up day in an area.  Leaves should be placed in piles between the curb and the sidewalk.     Due to clogging of the storm drains, PLEASE DO NOT PUT  LEAVES IN THE STREET.

After December 31 , residents can bag their leaves at any time and Rumpke will pick them up on trash day at the curb.

Brush Removal

Brush pickup is the 2nd and 4th  Monday of each  month.

  • Please have brush turned in the same direction, with the cut ends facing the curb and placed in piles.

  • Brush must be no larger than six  (6) inches in diameter.

  • Do not put brush in the street.

  • No special pick-ups will be made.

  • The Maintenance Crew  is not permitted to pick up material on private property.

  • For the first six Mondays immediately following Christmas, the Maintenance Crew  will collect real Christmas trees  placed at curbside. All stands, ornaments, nails, wires, disposal bags and other materials must be removed. Please be careful not to block traffic or driveways. All trees collected will be recycled into mulch and made available to Township residents.

  •  If you have any questions, please contact  Dennis Wilson 561-6046 ext. 12 or  maintenance@columbiatownship.org
